champter 9&10&11

I like the example of water cycle that author gave on the book. I think multimedia could help students uderstand concept more clearly and easliy. Some scientific theories could not be understood by explanation of words such as
the identification of photosynthesis. Student may confused how this process work if they just read about explanation sentence. Howver, if they could see the working process, it is easy to get understanding. Moreover, pictures and video materials are more visual tools that help students learn knowledgy.
I like the author mentioned about two basic presentation design questions. Basic on those two questions, it is very easy to help students catch the main point of content of making power point. And the question"what do I want my audience to leave knowing or remembering" could be treated as main ideas and answers of th e presentation.
Using internet on the class is an useful method to help students expand their knowledge field. As the book said each student's knowledge range is different. teachers could not pay attention on every studens. Students could search the information that they are intersted in  through by internet in order to expand their knowledgy range. And during this process, students could practice their differet abilities due to they have to make sure their brain is continue to working. `
Electronic spellers and dictionaries are very effective tools to help beginners and second language learners to study language. It is more convenient and saving time. But the negative of the electonic dictionaries is difficult to deeper remember the meaning of words.
I think teacher e-portfolios si kind of online classes for the lower lever students. students could finish some classes independently at home according to the instruction of teachers gave on the website.

reflection of today

In the past, I only focus on how does technology help students in normal education area. I did not realize that technology has huge help in special education. Every one has right to do what they want to do. For the people who have disability trouble, technology could help them achieve their dream. For example, the boy who played instrument in the video achieve his music career with the instrument that is changed with the technologic skill. I think except help from assistant technology, there is other things teachers need to give them------patience.

chapter 7 &8

Technology is a part of our life in now a days. Teachers start to use some techloligy tool to help students study. I think visual-thinking is a most useful things to students. Thinking process is invisible.Teacher only can see the result, but not the process. To make sure the ansswer is correct, you need to insure the thinking steps is correct. Therefore, the software that could let teacher see the thinking process of students. Teachers could monitor students' every step of thinking in order to avoid mistake and edite it immediately. As the same time, teachers could analysis the problem style that students have, and help them fix the mistakes at time.
I think gamification strategies has negative and positive affects. For the positive side gamesoftware could help students raise their study interesting. However, gamesoftware has many uncontrolble factors in it. First, parents could not monitor students everytime. They could find some entertainment games to instend of eduucation games after students could ues techology skillful. Second, as the author mentioned on the book, students may focus on do they win or not more than foucus on the content of knowledge.The essence of strategy has changed. Finally, as the age of student grow, they could not control them=selves to interested some stimulat games such as shooting, fighting, and adventure. These games are one of reasons that increase the rate of criminal.
Some media tools also exist the problem that increaing criminal rate. For example, the violence and bloody movie has negtive impact on students. They could not judge right and wrong when they are young. Someone could say:"we could control them to not allowed them to touch these kind of vedio." But, could you stay with them everytime? Parents could not stop the mobvie trailer and some bloody commercials occur infront of screen.
There are some communication software could help students and teacher get closer. Students could keep touch with teacher everytime and everywhere with the computer.More over, teacher could contact with parents anytime too. Parents could know more about the process and situation of students everyday from the teacher. It is more convienent. Students also could use these technology tool such as email, blogs, and communication table to share their mind and idea to the other students too. But students may unconsciously enter into some communication forum that did not belong their age.To avoid this situation happend, teachers and parents need to figure out solution.

What I learnt today?

The reliable of resource is a very important issue to the students. There is a old saying in China which is every child looks like a piece of paper. After they learn something, the content will add on the paper and become colorful. Therefor, it is necessary to be know the authenticity of the information from website  We need to be careful of this problem when we select the resource. The fake imformation could lead us into a wrong region. It has a negative impact on us with the furture studing bucause students will go to the wrong road with a fake clues and never figure out answers. At the same time, we also need to remind students, and teach them how to choose reliable website to search information.

what I learnt today

We talked about web quest today, and I think web quest is very interesting and complicated because it provides a huge mount of information in only 2 or 3 pages. The web quest is not only including the content of knowledge and the instructions from teachers, but also containing the assessment standard and methods at the same time. Teachers could teach students new knowledge and assess them at the same time. Students could know the thinking steps of new topic very clearly through by the web quest. It is very useful technology tools for both teacher and students.

discussion learnd

At the beginning of the class, when the Dr. Chen mentioned the question that should we teach the people in the past time in different way as the people in now a days, I got a new ideas. I think maybe we shouldn't change a way, the thing that we need to do is just teach them slowly or pay more patient to them. I think people like to curiously about new things include internet. The technology is a kind of drugs to addictive people have it. For example, in my mother's century, the computer did not occur yet. They need to make contact with some simple things. However, when the telephone and computer have become fashion , my mother buy them to home too. At first, she don't know how to use them. But, difficulties could not stop her foot. she just learn some skills one time and time. Now, she know how to paly international online games and do some activities about accounting report with computers. She uses some app to contact with me with her ipad and telephone everyday and she also uses them to read ness. This process is same as the behaviorism that Dr.chen mentioned on class.

reflection of chapter 1 & 2

Reading reflection of chapter 1 & 2
After reading those two chapters, I think lots.The 21st century is a technology and data century. People could not live without technology. People are habituated to use some digital productions in their daily life such as contacting people with mobilephones, searching imformation with computers, and enjoying entertainment programs with TV.
As the author mentioned in chapter 1 on page 17 "One key element of your digital identity as a teacher will be the ways you use computer technologies and Web 2.0 tools to create highly interactive, inquiry-based  learning environments in K-12 classrooms.", I think it is nessary to built interaction circle between teacher and students. Firsst, even though teachers stays with students about 5 or 6 hours per day,they need to manage 20-30 students. Teachers could not assess every students' learning results and anwser every students' question on the class. Then, not all of students have chance to present their own opition when they learn new knoledge. In that sittuation, students could not share their personal opitions of new knowledge to their classmates. The imfortion could not convey. I think the impotant of education is not make sure students could know the new imfortion, it is help students build criticle thinking mind and use new knowledge in their daily life. All in all, teachers could solve these disadvantages throug by using technology. They could buit a disscuss community online and put all of students in it in order to acheive imformation sharing. Howerver, as the technology of education developed rapidly, it occurs a problem which are called digital divides and participation gaps. Author write it on page 32 in chapter two : " Digital divides and participation gaps affect mainly low- income, nonwhite, urban, and rural youngsters, and occur when students do not have access to the latest technologiges at school or at home."   For the people who are low-income group, they could not offer a computer or digital product for their children. So, yongerest child could not finish their homework or take part in discuss activity online independently at home. I think school need to spend lots of time and fund to solve this problem.

1, I think technology is not only help students advance their academic knowledge and ability, but also have a bad effact on them which is they may only immersed in some entertainment program such as internet games. How did you avoid this situation?

9.16

Technology has effect human's life a lot. I think manage blogger is a quit difficult work for me. Even though I am not very clearly about how to use this, it gets better that I know how to follow and read others' blogs. From picture that Dr.chen showed us. I know the changed from past until now.

Even though I could use computer to do some simple things like playing games, reading books and shopping on the website, I am really not good at making educational tools with technology of computer such as creating interesting courseware. I also have trouble with  fixing simple computer issues. For example, I don't know how to find back the document that I lost it unguarded. I don't know how to wake up my laptop if it suddenly dead. And how to put some short movies or some voiced documents in my power point, etc.
In my mind, I think the role of teacher is assistant students learning new knowledge and make sure they could understand and use these in their daily life. However, sometimes, studying is quit boring. I think teacher need to figure out methods to attract students' sight and help them obtain knowledge. This time, I think computer technology could help teachers solve this problem.
I strongly believe that technology could bring colorful education content to my classroom.

my personal goal for learning this course:
1 putting interest video on my power point in order to let students learn theoretical knowledge and watching the real example at the same time.
2 putting some colorful pictures on my power point in order to catch students' attention.
3 learning how to edit students' home work with technology such as using certain software tools to check if they cheat paper of others.
4 I could fix simple computer issues by myself.
